College Grants for Felons in Occupational Therapy Schools

College educational grants for felons can be found through a variety of resources online.  If you have an interest in working in the healthcare sector, and if you want to work as an occupational therapy assistant, most schools will give you an opportunity to obtain a certification in occupational therapy while also tapping into grant resources.   To find the best opportunity, you will want to first look for the certified occupational therapy assistant schools that you can attend.  Once identified, then apply for financial aid by completing your FASFA online to determine your financial need.  Once your financial need document is returned to you, then turn that form into the school’s financial aid at which point the school can tell you what grants for convicted felons you will qualify for.   In many cases, grants and a combination of loans for felons, including student loans without a cosigner, can give you the financial boost so you can get started in this new career and move forward as a occupational therapy assistant without ever needing to enter into a process to expunge a criminal record.

Health Care Reform 2010 Affects College Grants for Felons

College grants for felons will be affected by the outcome of the Health Care Reform vote of 2010.  With the vote anticipated to take place tomorrow, many felons who are looking for grants for felons to attend school will rely heavily on the Pell Grant program.   At present, without Health Care Reform, the Pell Grant program is severely underfunded and may not provide the amount of grant money needed for felons, and other students, who want to attend college.   As part of the bill that includes Health Care Reform, if passed tomorrow, the government will change the way they subsidize student loans which will add additional funds to the Pell Grant program.   It is important, especially for those of us attending college, to encourage our government officials to vote “yes” tomorrow and not just because we need health care reform.  But, also because we need Pell Grants for convicted felons to be in full effect!  Encourage your state reps to vote yes for Pell Grant Reform!
